The Albanese Government is making Indi an even better place to live, delivering $1,31 million for two new community infrastructure projects in the Victoria’s North East.
The Eildon Boat Club will receive $814,700 for the Eildon Maritime and Community Hub.
The new hub will include emergency services and training facilities, multipurpose community spaces, a kitchen and accessible bathrooms. It will also provide bays for houseboat maintenance, and will include energy efficient lighting, solar power and water tanks.
The Porepunkah Baseball Club will receive $502,093 for lighting upgrades and towards the construction of a new, inclusive and multi-use clubhouse.
The centre will be open to the public and have the capacity to be used in case of emergencies as a community disaster refuge. It will include accessible change rooms and bathrooms, a kitchen and multifunctional social spaces. New light poles with energy efficient LED lighting will also be installed around the baseball field.
These projects demonstrate the Government’s commitment to listening to local voices and funding priorities that benefit Victoria’s regions.
The Growing Regions Program is an Albanese Government initiative that funds infrastructure – like cultural and sporting hubs, town precincts and parks – that build community and improve liveability in remote, rural and regional Australia.
It provides funding of between $500,000 and $15 million per project, with $600 million being delivered nationwide under the program.
Projects have been chosen after a full merit-based selection process.
